顺便说明一下，我与其并不认识，只是阅读其文章后，感觉比我写的好，故曾建议他转发到这里。

如何评价民国大师赵元任？

人的天赋或者通俗讲“天生的"特长确实是有的；比如模仿能力就是一种天赋；这种人对语言以及音乐非常敏感，擅长学说各种语言以及方言；在音乐方面也有建树。题主所提到的这个人就是一例。

赵元任，美籍华人，一个具有语言与音乐天赋的人，一个模仿能力极强的人；一个走遍世界都可以比别人认作“老乡”的人。

赵元任的爷爷在北方做官；少年赵元任曾经在北京、保定等地居住，学会了北京话和保定话；后来回到家乡常州，又学会了用常州方言；家里亲戚有常熟、福州的，他也学会了常熟和福州方言。

15岁的赵元任进入南京江南高等学堂学习，但是全校270名学生中，地道南京人只有三个；毫无疑问，赵元任跟着这三个又学会了地道的南京话。和来自五湖四海的同学在一起的时间长了，赵元任竟然熟谙了八种方言。

1920年，英国哲学家罗素到中国访问讲学，当时的清华大学指定赵元任当翻译；赵元任陪同罗素去了湖南长沙；此时的翻译全部用湖南话！

二战胜利后，赵元任去法国；在巴黎车站时，他对巴黎车站行李员又说起了巴黎土语；这位行李员听了以后，感慨万分，说：“你可算回来了啊。”

后来赵元任又去了德国柏林，这时的赵元任说的是带柏林口音的德语。一位老大爷对他说：“上帝保佑，你可躲过了这场灾难。”

除了语言天赋以外，赵元任在音乐方面也是出类拔萃；属于“开先河”之类的人物——用中国民间民谣的曲调为中国人写的词谱曲；

听过两首赵元任谱写曲子的歌；一首是《老天爷》，另外一首是《教我如何不想她》。第二首歌的词作者同样是民国时期的人物刘半农。

歌词中刘半农第一次“创造”了“女字旁的“她”，在当时的中国文人中也算是“开先河在”的人了。
